The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing several upcoming short-term closures of Interstate 84 Eastbound and Westbound in West Hartford between Exit 40 and Exit 41. Each closure will occur for no more than 15-minute periods between Tuesday, October 18, 2022 and Friday, October 21, 2022, between the hours of 12 a.m. and 5 a.m.
Multiple short-term closures will be required for the installation and removal of the overhead and cantilever sign structures spanning over both direction of I-84 between Exit 40 and Exit 41.
DOT Project No. 0155-0171 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $54 million on March 2, 2020, and is scheduled to be completed May 30, 2023. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill.

- I-84 Eastbound – 2 lanes closure will occur Tuesday, October 18, 2022 through Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 09:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
- I-84 Westbound – 2 lanes closure will occur Tuesday, October 18, 2022 through Thursday, October 20, 2022 from 09:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Traffic will not be detoured off the highway for these closures.
